    Mohsen Ghafouri

    Dr. Ghafouri is the founder of The Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center of Northern Virginia. Dr Ghafouri is board certified in rheumatology, specializing in osteoporosis, arthritis, autoimmune disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, and clinical problems that involve the joints, soft tissue and connective tissue.

    Dr. Ghafouri completed his internship at Griffin Hospital, an affiliate of the Yale University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency program in internal medicine at the Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Ghafouri received his specialized fellowship training in rheumatology at Georgetown University Hospital.

    Among his many academic honors, Dr. Ghafouri graduated with High Honors from medical school. He has also been voted as a “Top Doctor” in Washington Magazine, Washington Post, and Northern Virginia Magazine multiple times. Dr. Ghafouri has also been involved in many research projects and clinical trials. He is currently the principle investigator for the CORRONA study, one of the largest ongoing research projects for rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and gout.

    He also is an associate member of the American College of Rheumatology, International Rheumatology Network, American Medical Association, International Society of Clinical Densitometry, Washington Bone Club and Virginia Society of Rheumatology.
